Other Worldly Shoes

As mentioned by Luxirare and StyleBubble... These Anastasia Radevich creations blew my mind. The following shoes are from her latest collection called Kenetik. They are true sculptural and technical masterpieces. As a shoe designer, I really appreciate the love and creation that goes into shoe design. The blood and sweat behind the end result. When I see designs of this caliber I love to guess at what inspired the designer...The heel is like black ink gliding through water. It's so beautiful and unlike anything I've seen.Maybe she was inspired by liquidity. Dancing moving pigment. Bjork's Vespertine album comes to mind as well. Something about the artwork reminds me of the fluidity […] Read More

If You Don’t Like Fur… You Won’t like Fall

Accessory reports are showing that fur is huge for Fall 2010. Yikes.Fur is bad enough on coats but at least you can say that they keep you warm. Fur on your feet?? According to top designers, yes.If you ask me? No.Gross gross gross. I'm all for a little shearling trim on a cool boot like this one from Burberry But the following shoes are just silly. And cruel.Lanvin's Fox fur boot. Why would you want to look like you had fat hairy legs??Celine (the design house, not me) has this option for those of you who just want fur between your toes. Sweaty.Lovely. And if […] Read More

The Clog Debate

Ever since I saw the girls clomping down the runway at Chanel's Spring 2010 show, I thought... Hmmm. Really? I've never liked clogs as there's nothing sexy about them and they are technically frumpy.I remember even proclaiming that you would NEVER catch me in a pair of clogs. No matter who said they were cool! Then I saw Miu Miu's clog...Cute...ish. Still not sold. But then these babies, also Miu Miu-Kinda love them. Maybe because they're not opened up? I think they're really effin cool, though clearly too heavy for Spring. This month's cover of British Vogue has Alexa Chung wearing clogs (Chanel I think) that […] Read More

4th of July Getaway

Ben and I decided to get away for the weekend since our town gets a little out of hand for the 4th of July. So it was off to Palm Springs to stay at the beautiful Viceroy hotel. I went on a little mini shopping spree and bought most of these clothes at Nordstrom in their Brass Plum dept. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop for pretty cheap basics. (dress- BP, wedges- Chanel, tote- Goyard, glasses- Ray Ban)(tank- JCrew, skirt- BP, shoes- Christian Louboutin, hat- Meilsa)(skirt and tank- BP, shoes- Chanel, tote- Celine)(onsie- vintage, shoes- Harajuku Lovers)So I'm obviously obsessed with my new hat. I […] Read More
